Lee, Yes but not recommended, the frame was opened way up to take a lot bigger cylinder, it is owned by gunsmith that does not work on single actions anymore, "to much work for the money" the biggest he would make for a customer was a 41mag single six, I asked him about the safety margin, and he said 2 things, first the cylinder wall is thicker than a stock blackhawk chambered in .45 measured at the thinnest point (the cylinder bolt notches), and second there wasn't a safety margin and wouldn't sell it. he calls it "chewy" because under recoil it tends to bite.

John Gallagher built me a little 5.5 Octagon 44 a while back.. Good house payment level custom.. Little gun needs some grips....

Another Gallagher gun... This one a 445 Bisley built on a 357 Max.. I'm thinking a grip need here too..

Yes details! I passed on one about 5 years ago now that was identical to this one. Matter of fact, if you haven't had it that long, I'd say this is the one I handled. Too little knowledge back then to see it as a steal for the $500 asking price. Of course back then at the same show, we sold an immaculate OM 30 Carbine, SN 255 I think, for $265.

Bowen has a 5.5 inch ribbed S&W barreled 5 shot 45 colt Bisley on his "for sale" list that sure would look good in this thread....

A few "marginal" customs - they only approach a house payment if you add in the base gun at retail: CCH & Stainless 41 by Harton: Huntington 41 SPL/MAG on NM midframe flattop: Planning on cutting this one down to 4.63" Got a few more in my photobucket account, but they live other places now
