Out of the box BFR accuracy never ceases to amaze me. I had my 450 Marlin out yesterday and did some 100 yard shooting (open sights, bench rested). The load was 49.5 grains of 3031 under a 405 grain soft-point Remington: 10 shots, with the other 3 just missing the top edge of the plate (just missing as in 1/2" - 3/4"). If scoped I have no doubt I could put five shots in 2" or less at that range. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Can you explain the relationship of recoil between a handgun and a rifle? Rounds that can blur vision in a rifle being shot in a handgun has always escaped me.

Dmize - recoil is stiff, but not as bad as you'd think. If you can handle 454 Casull, you can handle a 450 Marlin BFR. I've never chrono'd this load, but if I had to guess I'd say around 1,700 fps. -Lee www.singleactions.com

GRoo here Dmize----- you can really handle more kick in your hand then your sholder. Your hand is one of the tuffest parts of the body,, it is connected with an asourtment of shock reducing joints that keep the impact away from the rest of you.
