The picture of the casting screams Caspian to me.
Would Ruger farm out casting? Or does Caspian have Pine Tree do their casting to start with?

Other way around Ruger owns Pine tree and has been casting 1911 frames for several companies. Like S&W was forging 1911 frames for other companies before they made their own 1911s. I think Ruger has Springfield squarely in their sights. All American made 1911 very cool. Hey Boge, tell Jeff he covered up the best part of that holster:-)

I think Pine Tree casts for Caspian.

Steel mainspring housing, no guide rod, no internal safety.... Lots of plusses here. Building a proven technology should rule out some of the typical new production hickups too....

Collect your pennies... I think you will be absolutely thrilled at the street price of these.

Afraid to know what "street price" is. My gun shop is pretty much MSRP. Last time I bought a "brand new gun" was my 454 SRH, the one I ordered was the first one in the shop, still cringe when I think what i paid for it.

My dealer would charge the average joe walking in off the street $642 OTD for one. Just looked them up on his distributors site.

I didn’t believe it was a Ruger till I saw the Ruger Legal Dept. warning label in the Quinn report.

I'd like to see a 38 Super and a commander slide OM grip frame 45 but I'll be content to bask in the light of a straight up 1911 45 for now....
