Back when I could afford "rescue projects" I picked this up out of the Cabela's used gun case and sent it to Alan Harton. Nickeled, all the alloy parts were polished out pretty seriously, broken grips, and gold plated hammer and trigger! Also has a D & T in the topstrap Although it's a poor pic, that haze on the barrel isn't my fault that was really the finish. Before pic: Sent it down to Alan Harton with a box of "rainy day project" parts. Alan did a few things to it. stripped nickel, (incl repolish & reblue) welded topstrap hole fit OM SBH grip frame fit OM SBH hammer and trigger fit steel ERH opened throats to .4525 (was .450-.451) recut lettering (R) that was overpolished from the nickel job on left side The medallions in those grips came from the grips on the gun when I bought it, I filled the eagles back in with automotive striping enamel. top strap fix this lettering and the eagle are pretty crisp for twice refinished sixgun, eh? Unfortunately, I'm also gonna have to post this - in the RF classifieds.

You bust other peoples "dreams" too?? Ya know tis funny that CFO wouldnt approve the 38-40 thing and I know better than to even ask about this Jewel BUT she didnt have a problem with me putting glass in my truck ($250) tires on my truck ($875) so I could inspect it ($12) and get license on it($113) but mention a fine sixgun and its (inesrt shrill voice from tempermental 5' redheaded woman) YOU dont NEED ANOTHER gun..

Yea,I'd thought that after 25 years I would have had some of those buttons that I seem to naturally push calloused over,BUT,no such luck.

You must learn to hide things from these women. They have a tendency toward shrillness, I've found. I figure what they don't know won't hurt them, right? (limited to firearms-related matters, 39 years experience)

Old running buddy had it down to a science. He claimed that his wife's ability to distinguish handguns was limited to black or shiny. Worked good for him but I know for a fact that some of us have wives who can tell a Colt NF from a FT Ruger sitting in the safe from across the room! My personal process is to keep the bills paid and no whining about not having any extra cash...

I could give some advice here, but it wouldn't be any good - my wife jumped the fence on me! Took a while for me to figure out, but that was the best thing she ever did for me. And as a bonus, the gun collection has grown exponentially since! I'll never have another CFO.

Good thing you live up there Boge... If you were much closer I think we might have gotten into a lot more trouble than we actually did...
