made about 1860,marked W.E. Watts, Nottingham, The "Greenwich" Lever, also marked 'swiss made' and supposed to have been heavily imported into US and often carried in the civil war, by folks of both sides. as you can see it is key wind and key set. works perfectly, keeps excellent time. also it has the little cigar trimmer that came on the chain. love this old stuff!

Me too, I'd love to have a watch like that. My oldest was made in 1880.

i have got another one of the same vintage,works great too. and also recently got one from approx 1843 in a 'paired case' that also works great. i will post a couple of pictures of them if you want to see them.

Why no numbers on the cards? those cards are copies of some from the 1700s, but i think no numbers were used until sometime into the late 1800s......guess you had to stay sober enough to count! ; )
