Here are the results of some penetration tests conducted at a dead blackjack oak tree. Had a good Saturday with dad - drank a few beverages, set some small fires, and shot some sixguns. Upper Left is a 255gn .45 Keith traveling about 900 fps. Lower right is a 148gn .38 wadcutter doing about 850 fps. Obviously there were other shots that penetrated more, but I thought this was work taking a pic of. BTW - that tree is about a rick of "spalted wood" that we are gonna set on fire.

I shoot oak stumps down at the farm.... ;D Kind of puts all those glorious "penetration test" in a whole new light doesn't it? Plywood, paper, and pine boards are a lot more impressive!
