Yep, you got a few car guys on here. This is my resto 73 Nova. It's coming along slowly but surely. I'd re-think the air cleaner if it were me. One little carb backfire & those foam filters can melt & goo up your carb. Otherwise, it looks pretty schweet from here!

Nice small block bowenbuilt. What's the CID? Aluminum heads, single plane intake, you must have a pretty big cam in that thing?I bet that thing sounds pretty mean That would be a 396 cu. in. small block. It has a Sonny Bryant billet crank, Oliver 6" rods, Mahle Coated pistons, Edelbrock E-tech heads a dual plane Edelbrock intake with a 670 Divinchi carb. The cam is a Comp. Cams roller, 525 lift on a 106 centerline, 300 duration. Yes it makes some noise but it is very streetable. Everything but the body is brand new, I have been working on it now for 5 years, maybe someday I will finish it. BB

One little carb backfire & those foam filters can melt & goo up your carb. Otherwise, it looks pretty schweet from here! It's the only air cleaner that will fit under the 2" cowl hood. The intake sits up too high for anything else thats breathable and you cannot run anything higher than 2" where I live on the street legally. I have tried everthing and this is the only air cleaner I can find that will breath in the confined space. BTW I am not using Edelbrocks original foam in the cleaner. It doesn't breath worth a da*n either.

. Cams roller, 525 lift on a 106 centerline, 300 duration. 106 LSA = lots of scavenging & lots of mid-range torque. Are you going to race it? -Lee www.singleactions.com

Have you tried a drop base air cleaner with a thin filter?

No not racing it. Just something to ride around on the weekends and have some fun. I have done a lot of racing in the past but I kind of out grew it so to speak. Costs too much money these days. I ran several cars back in the 70's and early 80's. The Dirty white Boy Camaro, The Orange Crate Cuda and the Double Vision 67 Nova. Spent a bunch of money and had a good time running with the gear jammers and Good Ol Charlie Brown.

Have you tried a drop base air cleaner with a thin filter? I have tried every drop base air cleaner on the market and none will fit over the fuel regulator and gauge. They also interfere with the throttle linkage. The thin filters don't breath well enough or work as well as what I have. I tried them on the dyno before installing the engine. Some of the thin filters cut as much as 70 HP on the top end. I will stick with what I have for right now.
