There were at one time, aftermarket grip panels offered which were characterized by having a thin wood or plastic piece laminated to the frame side part of the panel. I've seen both plastic and wood laminates and a lot of the outside panels are imitation mother of pearl.
Does anyone remember who made these and if they are still in production?

Thanks, Bill. I think you're correct.
Interestingly enough, they seem to have also made regular grips and were at one point in time owned by Colt.

Thanks, but no. I ran into an buddy who had a pair on an old S&W. We had a simultaneous senior moment and couldn't think of who made them.
Was driving us more crazy....

New in the box Jay Scott grips come up on Ebay all the time. Must be a whole lot of them around.

Hey Cary,
After I was reminded, I looked on Ebay and noticed there was a bunch of "new old" stock. All I can figure is that there was a big plant turning out lots that got stockpiled somewhere. Interestingly, there seems to be a wide variety of them - from the cheaper looking black plastic laminates to reasonably nice looking wood.
I presume it's all history now.
Thanks,
