Looks great in octagonal. Who did your conversion? I know most folks like lugged 5.5" barrels on 475 or 500 Linebaugh Bisleys. I've built a few, but have grown to like straight taper cut to 6" - 6 1/2". Seems to balance just right with the Bisley gripframe. -Lee www.singleactions.com

A local smith did the conversion back in 1996, its blocked, linebored, and shoots good with full power loads but groups open up with lite loads and really heavy bullets (has a really slow rate of twist barrel). When Robb offered Mr. Gallagher's barrels to help cover John's medical cost I figured it was time for a matching set of Linebaugh's. I agree with you on the balance of 6"-6 1/2" barrels on the 500s but to me the 475s seem to balance better cut around 5 1/2". Ive got a 4 5/8" .500Linebaugh in the works now, I will see how it handles in a few months.
When I can afford it, I will be sending Mr.Gallagher back his barrel and a Bisley so he can finish what he started. ;D

Dustin Linebaugh has built Three 4.75 in vaqueros for me and I have one of johns 5.5in the 4.75s really balance much better and pack much easier than the longer stuff on a long days field trip. FWIW . [/quote]
