Howdy all,
I am looking to start customizing my first single action. I would like to begin with a brass grip frame. I am starting my look on the internet but if anyone knows of one for sale send me a note.
Thank you!

Go to Powercustom.com. I believe they still have some brass frames.

I'd call and ask for Ron or his son. They often have stuff in the back that may be low enough quantity they don't want to list it but still have a few laying around. That is how I got my last two brass birdsheads from them.
You might also post a WTB ad on the Ruger Forum. Several of the guys over there have a few MR3-BD's stashed away and may turn loose of one.

Wow, good thing I waited. I ordered this one. Now the journey begins on my first custom revolver. ;D ;D ;D If you ordered the Qualite frame you need to be aware of something. Stock Ruger grips will not fit the frame. The frames are quite a bit oversized. You will either have to grind down the frame to fit the grips or send it to someone to have a set of grips fit to it. Below is a picture showing a stock Ruger grip on a Qualite frame.

Plan is to get some Pvt. Schultz grips for it. It doesn't matter who makes them. They will need to be made to fit the frame. You can't modify a set of grips that fit a stock Ruger frame since the grips will be undersized already. You have two choices. Send Pvt. Schultz the grip frame for fitting or just buy a pair of his grips, then grind down the grip frame to fit the grips. Please understand, I'm not saying anything against Pvt. Schultz's grips. You will have the same situation no matter who you buy grips from when using that frame. My whole purpose was just to make you aware of it. The Qualite frames are very nice and good quality, just way oversized.

Correct, Pvt. Schultz fits them to the frame you send him.

Correct, Pvt. Schultz fits them to the frame you send him. I'm sure the good Pvt. will be reading this forum, but just to be sure, I know that he uses CNC machinery to make his grips so you should make sure he knows it will be a Qualite frame when you place the order. I don't know how versatile his CNC program is but he could probably just forgo the CNC machine and make them by hand for that frame. One way or the other, I'm sure you'll be happy with his grips.
