Well, I traded for my first Seville last week. I've only seen a couple over the years, and after reading what Lee Martin, John Taffin, and others on this board have said about them, it was on my short list. This one popped up on a local internet trading forum and I apparently had what he wanted as trading stock. When I saw that it was .45 Colt, that sealed the deal. I've never seen a gun so highly polished. When I first inspected it, I figured for sure that it was nickeled! Doesn't look like many rounds have been fired through it, but I plan to change that, shortly! It will make a good match to my recently-acquired OM .45 Colt 4-5/8" Blackhawk.

It appears to be a nice acquisition "oldschool". They were produced with a good deal of precision, fit and finish, comparing them favorably with the FA's and USFA's of today. Enjoy!! Shadow

Good catch. From the serial number, yours would've been built around early '84 (right after Jeff Munnell's group took over United Sporting Arms). -Lee www.singleactions.com

Based on your pictures, I would have said nickel, as well. Neat gun!

It's definitely stainless. May or may not have come from the factory in high gloss. Most stainless Sevilles from '84 on were brushed SS., but some did get high polish. Now when Sig Himmelmann owned Sporting Arms Inc, he did a fair number of gloss SS. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I have yet to see a Seville except in books and pictures and certainly haven't handled one!
I keep thinking I'll stumble over one...
Very nice!

There're out there Mark, but I rarely find them in shops or at shows. Not sure why, but most of the ones I've purchased are from online auctions or folks emailing me direct. My local dealer jokes about how many Sevilles, El Dorados, and Abilens have flowed through their shop with my name on 'em. In fact, 90% of the ones I've bought have been purchased from photos alone. Rarely do I get to handle them before I put up the money. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I agree Mark, am also looking for one with no luck so far, a riverhead Abilene is as close as I've come. There is a couple of Gun shows this month maybe I'll get lucky.
