For a long time I focused my single action attention on Rugers with a few TLA's and FA's thrown in to make it interesting. Other than the old Frontier Scout I inherited from my father, I never had much interest in the Colt SA's. This was partly due to reading that many of the 3rd Gen guns were of questionable quality, the 1st and 2nd Gen guns were more than I was willing to spend and I had boughten into the "Ruger Only" idea of the strength of Rugers versus the 100 plus year old design of the Colt SA.
Just recently I have found myself broadening my interests a little bit and started thinking about adding a Colt to the ugly pile in the safe.
Well, thanks to my good friend, Hidestretcher Barranti, this is becoming a reality. It seems Mike has this nice New Frontier that has been touched by Fermin, Jim Stroh, Alan Harton and Scott Kolar. It also seems Mike had a hankering for one of the classic Ruger 44 flat tops with the 7 1/2" barrel which I just happened to have. Maybe he got a touch of the flattopitis Sixshot recently caught. Anyway, by tossing in a few other items on each side we each ended up with what we wanted. Mike gets his flat top and an old ugly 3 screw in 41 Mag and I get a Colt that will head down to Alan Hartons for one more mod. Alan will be doing some basic blacksmithing and grafting a Colt bisley hammer spur on the top of the NF hammer.
While I don't feel at liberty to show what Mike is ending up with, I will let you see a picture of what is headed this way. Thanks Mike for helping make a wish come true.
Okay JT, I have a Colt now, can I come back and visit again?
