In a continuing effort to educate and /or remind my employees of the various models of S&Ws, I am seeking one of these out. I know that they are dated and of limited scope, BUT with that ring and the words "M&P" & "Bodyguard" & have the majority of the current S&W line covered. Rob

I had one posted FS on the S&W board but it was deleted for not following the prescribed groupthink.

Do you still have it? BTW the ONLY time I bought a gun that was not as described was from S&W forum...

I may, Rob, but if I do it's in deep storage. Here is the breakdown, if it helps:
The first two digits indicate the caliber:
39= 9mm 59= 9mm 69= 9mm 10= 10mm 40= .40 S&W 45= .45 ACP 35= .356 TSW (rare)
The third digit indicates the model type:
0= standard model 1= compact 2= standard with decocking lever 3= compact with decocking lever 4= standard with double action only 5= compact with double action only 6= nonstandard barrel length 7= nonstandard barrel length with decocking lever 8= nonstandard barrel length with double action only
The fourth digit indicates material type:
3= aluminum frame with stainless steel slide 4= aluminum frame with carbon steel slide 5= carbon steel frame and slide 6= stainless frame and slide 7= stainless steel frame with carbon steel slide
I know that doesn't help with specific barrel lengths. I have an extra copy of the Supica/Nahas S&W book that has more info that I'll be happy to give you, if you like.

I am quite familiar with the S&W codes:-) I used to right em all out during math class as a drill to keep from dying of boredom. I wanted the visual aid for my employees. I will use your list to build my own all inclusive list ton post in the shop. I have that book myself thanks for your offer and assistance. Rob

As a member over there, may I respectfully ask what is "aggravating" about the S&W Forum? Dave Condescension and arrogance from several of the members. Admittedly, most have been nice, but a couple of guys from whom I've tried to buy guns have been a-holes. I still check it out, I just don't hang out there like I do here. I recognize that as big as that board is, it won't be like "home" - so I spend more time here.
