now that my grandpa gave me his branding irons, im gonna try to find out what his brothers brands looked like, and i think i'll have Reeder engrave them on my blue ruger bisley, and have them filled with gold so that they stand out.

Cattle Brand Sixguns!!!! Some love'm some hate'm I believe your project will be a fitting tribute to your ancestors! They's a lot of memories in a cattle brand sixgun! Wishing you all the luck on your project. Here's a picture of my cattle brand sixgun by the late Weldon Bledsoe of Ft. Worth, Texas. Ruger .44 Magnum 7 1/2" Old Model Flat Top.

Thank you, the grips are buffalo horn and the Mexican eagle is silver.
It took me a long time to find the Bledsoe signature it is so well concealed in the engraving you probably know he was trained by Cole Agee who I believe was also from Texas and famous for his cattle brand engraving.

These USFA Cattlebrands of Jackson Hole don't have the family ties of the cattlebrands above or the history of the Bledsoe cattlebrand engraving but they are some nice examples of current cattlebrand engraving styles as influenced by some of the past master Colt engravers. These three sets were all sold by USFA and I don't believe they are going to make any more in the future. All four photographs were taken by United States Fire Arms. J.D. Press J.D. Press
