Life moves at a different speed in the Mississippi delta. Something that can't be explained. One has to live it. Flying crickets, mosquitos with a measurable wingspan... Cold beer and crayfish saved me...

I can tell you for a fact that the 445SM that Axe put pictures up off, shoots like a rifle(it ues to be mine). Here are some of my pictures of it. Here is the work of art I still have. It's a 45 Colt/ 45 ACP covertable with ivory grips. Bill

Well I had a Gallagher 45. Not sure if it was truely a "custom" as compared to others here. Hated to get rid of it.

Valley, Boges pictures are exactly what we are talking about with John doing a 41Special on an ON SS.

Money bags! During one of my last visits John was gnashing his teeth about how labor intensive a pair of 41 specials he was building was. He was considering not making any more. My recomendation was to simply charge appropriately for the effort. That said... I may need to climb on the 41 special bandwagon myself. The last time you guys worked up a frothy frenzy on these things I even picked up a few OM Single Sixes

I talked to John last night and there is another one headed his way. He is going to add a long Max cylinder in 41 Mag to this gun as well.

Long cylinder? Get out of here! You doing the 1.4 chamber? I want a FT 41 and won't pay the premium for the Williams guns. I picked up an extra NM FT 44 Mag just to make a 41... Might just go the extra cylinder length with a 1.4 inch chamber too.. Anyone know how hard a 14 twist 41 barrel will be to come by?

Nope on the 1.4" 41. I have short Specials, regular Mags and a long 414 so I don't need a 4th iteration of the phantastic 41!

From where I'm sitting you are missing a 41GNR, 41GNR #2 and a 410 GNR... Got a plan? What is the long cylinder going to buy you... Don't they say that the twist of the stock Ruger barrel is to slow for heavier than the run of the mill 41 bullets? Seems like I heard that 250s can be iffy in the stock Rugers..

Beartooth's 280 LFN's did just fine in my 1.4" 41. It used a stock Ruger barrel.

Call me simple but I have just never been attracted to the siren call of the GRN rounds. I am sure he does nice guns but they nor the propriatary (sp) rounds have no attraction for me. I'm doing it simply because I like the looks, have the gun and the cylinder and the credit down at John's.

Personal preference is exactly why there are so many options out there for us! On the twist thing so much depends on individual expectations and requirements. Most of us have read JTs writings on the 41 and his encouraging FA to run an appropriate twist (14) in their 41 mag. One of these days I'll find a 41 mag FA 83 Silhouette that fits my budget and I'll do some accuracy testing of my own...
