I like both, but the mesquite seems better matched. I would opt for mesquite first in this case.

I like the mesquite better. Mesquite is an interesting wood, as it is highly varied in how it appears. I've seen mesquite that almost looked like desert ironwood. Then, there is yours. Neat stuff.
