Just committed to a 257 GNR. Cartridge is a 405 Winchester necked to 25... Barrel is ported 16 inch stainless for an Encore.. 16% more capacity than a 25-06. If the loading manual wasn't out in the cold I'd post some expected numbers. Should help create a little deep south warmth while we wait for spring.. Pictures when it arrives! Midsouth is sending rings and base and a Pachmayr grip and forearm. Leupold 2.5-8 waiting too. Targets and chrono data when spring arrives.

Turned out to NOT be a ported barrel. I'm thinking that is a plus with something like this. Currently at the mercy of UPS. Best estimate is Thursday.

That should be a good one. I have a Choate stock for a 16" tube or three I have. Mostly I use them as handguns BUT turn the EER scope to 2X and that M4 telescoping buttstock all the way out. It works pretty good!
