I have been considering turning a 357 Blackhawk into a 357 B&D. Before going through with the project I wanted to ask a few questions. What type of improvments can I expect with a 51/2" - 61/2" barrreled revolver? How difficult is it to form brass? I like the 357 magnum mainly for shooting small game and its explosive effect with JHP bullet, so I am not looking to drive heavier bullets at higher velocities.
Thanks Todd

Well, you'll see a marked velocity increase due to the extra powder in the case, and you'll have no trouble forming cases, however I do beleive RCBS may have a form die available if you care to go that route

There's an article on my website covering 357 B&D conversions. Past 4 or 5", every inch of barrel nets 30 - 50 fps depending on bullet weight. -Lee www.singleactions.com
