I like to keep a rifle and pistol of the same calibers. I have a Ruger 45 Colt and a Marlin Cowboy 45 Colt. In the Ruger I can shoot some very hot loads for hunting. Can I shoot these hot loads in the Marlin safely?
250 grain bullet with 20-22 grains of Win 296 powder.

I agree with Lee. I would also add that in my limited experience of doing the same thing, the Marlin has a much looser chamber. So much so that I have to keep my brass separate. Just an FYI.
