I finally photographed the Chimney Rock El Dorado I purchased last month. This one saw a lot of IHMSA competition back in the day and is in 357 Maximum:
Like all North Carolina built El Dorados, the action is like glass. In fact, the trigger pull scales a 1/2 pound.
The plan is to convert it to 414 SuperMag. I'll build a new cylinder and fit 41-cal Pac Nor tube to it. As such, I won't alter the original parts. Barrel length with likely be 8.5" and I'm going to see if Scott Kolar will make a set of high-figure walnut grips for it. I'll keep you all posted as the project progresses.
