I took it to AK after Black Bear as a stock .375 Win., didn't connect with it though. It shot great and I found the barrel 1" too long and seemingly underpowered with all those Grizz running around. So now it is a .405 Win. necked to .375 (.378 GNR) to the cringe of Bob Baker. He likes things to be efficient. This is all about maximum excess in that caliber for me. He said he didn't care what I did to it after the check cleared. lol. A really great fellow. I had the barrel shortened 3" (12") then a 2" muzzle brake added. Still 1" shorter than stock, now perfect. Anyway I got a chance at a very dark phase if not smallish Sika at the Y-O Ranch in TX. One shot at 80 yds. was plenty for the little Elk. The overkill load was a 260 gr. Nosler Accu-bond at a little over 2200 fps. Andy Rowe at CPE makes the custom loaded ammo. I do want a less recoiling and flat shooting smaller caliber barrel assy for my FA2008. The 7BR is sounding nice, maybe. The .243 is said to be popular, listed or not. This .378 can pick up the slack anywhere else. Old guys still fuss about the SAA (well FA) grip on the thing. Just a little field report.

Good Shootin Scotty! Nice little Sika for a great cause! No matter what Mr. Baker says, that fireball behind your barn makes for some great pics! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
