Saw one of these today at the gun show. Anyone have any experience with them? Worth the $725 asking price. 5", matte finish, unfluted cylinder, Model of 1989 on the barrel. I almost traded my Series 70 for it in a moment of weakness. Can't seem to talk myself into a DA. I can't think of a reason I would ever fire a shot in DA mode.

I cannot speak to the 25-7, however my 25-5 is a gem. A double action N frame in 45 Colt is a great companion when out for a ride at our ranch. Buy it!

Mine is a keeper, and I know of several others here who enjoy theirs.
What it lacks in mid-century panache, it more than makes up for in shootability and utility. Compared to the 25-5, the internals have been upgraded, and the finish is bead blasted. The 5" barrel is a rarity among the target bbl'ed S&Ws.
I just wish they had made it with a taller front sight.
If you hand load for .45 Colt, this is an outstanding revolver. I you don't make your own, you might be better off looking for a .44 Magnum, as good ammo is more readily available.
