I was in the blind the other Saturday morning, just enjoying the world waking up. I had a Louis L'Lamour novel and was about to decide the the nearly full moon the night before had lessened my chances of seeing anything significantly, when I head something bounding along the fenceline next to the stand. The little fellow in the picture below stopped no more than 15 yards in front of my stand and started scanning the world. He jerked his head around as his fantastic hearing picked up the click click click of my Old Model flattop 44, and he looked me right in the eyes and knew me for trouble just as the hammer fell. 240 SWC over 10 grains of Unique, in my OM flattop with a brass grip frame and SBH lockwork. Went through the eye socket not shown and the important stuff behind it.

I had a bobcat run nearly into me when I was hunting elk a few years ago. He was chasing a bunny and gave up on him 25 yards in front of me. So I just stood there and watched him for 20 minutes, I have to admit the thought of drawing the 45 colt on my hip never crossed my mind. I have nothing against someone else killing one I just didnt have the desire that day.
They are just plain cool little beasts.

I see them quite regularly over the past 4 years or so. I like to watch them slip around so I don't shoot them personally. They are neat little cats

Don't get me wrong, I had nothing personal against the little fellow, but the neighbor just up the road keeps chickens and guineas. We eliminate most predators on sight.

I have 4 inside cats that own my house and everyone in it. But 20 years ago or so, before I became such a sensitive, new millenium kind of guy, I was known to shoot the occasional bobcat:
