I have the opportunity to buy a very gently used (approx. 100 rounds) Springfield Armory 1911-A1 .45 ACP. It has an aluminum lower and blued slide. 3-dot fixed sights, in the box with 1 clip. It belongs to a friend, so I know it's been very well taken care of. I can have it for $350, whatta ya'll think? I'm not very knowledgeable on 1911's,
thanks in advance!

To my way of thinkin, any Springfield 1911 would be worth $350. I just bought my son their GI model for HS graduation and it set me back $550. That is the cheapest Springfield 1911 made.

First off, if your friend said he's shot 100rds, it really means at least 400 (almost everyone lies about it, I don't know why. It doesn't matter, though. A 1911 isn't even broke in good until you're shot 1000 rounds through it. It'll keep going for for much, much longer. If your Springfield has 3 dot sights, it should be the mil-spec model, which is a step up above the GI. Better sights, ejection port lowered and flared more. $350.00 is a smoking good deal right now, and you can't beat a Springer. Alex Hamilton says the're the best buy for your money now and have better specs and machining than a Colt. I own 2 and couldn't be happier. I shoot exactly the same as when I use my Colt. If it doesn't feed hollow points, don't be alarmed. Very common with these base models. It's a military gun and meant to shoot hardball ammo. I'd say you done good. Now shoot it and enjoy
