Check this out. I got this (Jan 1976) magazine recently, for a Dan Wesson article. It's also got a pretty extensive article on those 'ol "broomhandles" too, including a detailed list of running design changes to the gun (with serial number ranges) from 1896 to 1934.

My first exposure to the old urchin was the one my Father In Law from my first marriage brought back home with him after the second world war... Back then they were all BIG money. I don't remember any real specifics about it. I was involved with an evil anti gun yankee when the first batch was inported in the late 80s & early 90s and missed them all.. I have been assured that for the bggest part those gun were all rags... This gun of mine is really in good shape...

Mine was from that early 90s wave of Sino importation.
1920s standard gun, externally pretty clean and internally rotten. Previous owner got it 90 percent repaired, and relined. Florida outfit called "The Broom Closet" did the work, and did it well-unaware if they are still around.
Did a round of Silhouettas with the piglet in '98. Easy to connect-gun shot great and 7.63 Mauser shoots very flat. Didn't knock over anything, just clanged 'em loudly. It ejected directly straight up, and once in a while dropped its empty brass back on the gun itself.

Those old broomhandles have always intrigued me, but, I will probably never own one due to them being incredibly expensive, ammo (and components) being incredibly hard to find, and the collector value. But nice broomhandle

Every time I watch Clint Eastwood shoot em up with the class III broomhandle with the shoulder stock in the movie Joe Kidd I am inspired to get mine out and play with it....

Every time I see that pistol I think of that movie, the bell tower, etc.
A quality literary reference Mr. Handle. Proof that you are more diverse than firearms and cotton apparel. ;D
