so tell me Axe, is there a tree in your back yard that you shake, and these things just fall from it ;D since you have a few examples for comparison, which do you feel balance the best for you? Very Nice by the way! ~c.r.

Probably a silly question, but what do the prefixes stand for? I will be looking at the only 4 5/8" Bisley available locally today... "T" for Talo I assume? What is the "D" for?

All the stainless 4 5/8 FT 44 Specials are TALO guns. The "T" prefix gun is a mismarked TALO gun.. Take note that the prefix indicates that it is a New Vaquero... "D" means duplicate serial number. These are found in the 4 5/8 Bisley FT 44s. The matching serial number guns are in the TALO FTs

'Scuse me Axe but me thinks this borders on "NM FT 44 Special Mass Stockpile".... And what's with the yellow in the pics? Need to be careful lest somebody comes along and mistakes you for a collector or something.
Very nice.

Collector? Working in an industry where the "appearance" makes you as guilty as the actual act don't think that I am not painfully aware of what this looks like.. Hard to defend holding multiple consecutive serial number sets and the "D" marked guns and their mates and all the while looking for copies outside the known parameters so that I'll have some shooters... Could I be a semi collector? Maybe a pseudo collector?

Thanks for the SN explanation. I envy your collection. I went to the dealer today to buy the 4 5/8" bisley, but ran into a little snag. I had asked the guy behind the counter if the revolver had the reverse indexing pawl. While thumbing through the literature in the box, he pulled the hammer back against the factory installed tie-wrap (not far enough I might add), struggled with the loading gate, and finally got the cylinder to turn. I watched in amazement as he installed a nice bright turn ring on a flawless cylinder. So, I am still looking for my first 44 Bisley.

Hate it for you. Ruger is so hot and old with the Bisley. When these are gone it may be a while beore we see any more.

Collector? Could I be a semi collector? Maybe a pseudo collector? Time to be brave and come out as a Closet Collector.
