Just out of curiosity, are there no vintage Great Western collectors on this board?
Just wondering.
No sexy exotic calibers, but still sexy IMHO.

I'm more of a lurker around here but you bet I like the Great Westerns and keep my eye out for them locally, I've picked up 3 over the years. The shops in my neck of the woods don't know anything about them and they can usually be had pretty cheap, to bad they don't show up more often.

I almost was! Quite a few years ago a feller at a gun show had two full-blue 5½" models, one a .22LR, the other a .38Spl. They were not much more than $300 apiece. Tried to bring one home but it seems like there was something goofy and nitpicky about the seller....don't remember. Every one I've seen since has either been in rough shape, waaaay too much money, or both.

I like mine, I had to order it straight from EMF, because no local shops stock them. .357 magnum and a really slick pistol!

I'm not a collector, but I have a few original Great Westerns. Neat old guns. I know quality was hit or miss, but they're big on nostalgia. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Ran across one at a July Gunshow...I got all excited but passed...it as a neat .357 and it looked great....but three bills seemed high for some reason. It was gone an hour later.

I try not to pass through a small town without looking for a gun store!

Bob Fifteen years ago maybe but the collectors have discovered them and now it is extremely difficult to find them that cheap. Last one I saw was a .44Mag in decent shape but had a horrible timing issue and they still wanted $600 for it.
