I recently photographed one of my Great Westerns for a forum member. Thought I'd post them here too. It's an unaltered 357 Atomic from around 1956 with matte blue finish. It looks to have been shot very little:    It's amazing how these have gone up in price. Back in the 90's you could find GWs for $200 - $250 (I paid $200 for this one back in '99). -Lee www.singleactions.com |

saw on in an auction recently went well over 500.00 as i recall and it really was a beater!
nice one.
bought a great western 22 hornet SAA for 200 years ago and traded it off.....they are probably pricey too.

Any chance of you posting pictures of it? -Lee www.singleactions.comit is long gone, i traded it to wayne anthony ross, when he was a national NRA board member..... he collected great westerns....he recently told me a state trooper who collects them has it now. it was a really disappointing gun......locked up every single time i tried to use it , no matter what, and two of the chambers would seize the brass to the point you had to disassemble it and drive them out. i didnt mind trading it. wayne never shot it. |

Anecdotally, I just heard from one of the great firearms historians that GW's hornets had undersized bores.
