If you had a Vaquero that you wanted to get a dovetailed/windage adjustable front sight installed on............who would you send it to?
Who has the best front sight, and why.
Can I purchase the sight and have it installed locally? Please post examples of front sights.
The reasons I want an adjustable front sight are 1) I want to have the barrel shortened. 2) My pistol is stainless, and the front sight is hard to see. I need a blued/contrasting sight.
Thank you all in advance, Randy.

www.gunblast.com/Freedom_NewSight.htmMy understanding is, FA will sell those separately. Any halfway decent local gunsmith can cut that dovetail. You can file it to height as needed, even buying several that you can dial in for different bullet weights. The advantage with this setup is that once the set-screw is loosened, windage adjustments are easy.

Before that was available, I had a gunsmith in the Seattle area do this setup: The dovetail cut he used was 1/8th rifle, which turned out to be a good choice. I'm still using that base, but...my setup is very different now... ...and it's evolved even further since .

Salvo did one on a stainless Vaquero. Very slick set up. Perhaps he'll post about it.

I have had the FA sight installed by my local gunsmith on two Vaqueros. I like the sight and the set-up.

Groo here Andy Horvath did mine with replaceable blades. I plan to have an FA installed on another soon [ I think the sight is $36]

Has anybody ordered the Fa front sight? Do you know what height i need for a 4 to 4.5'' barreled Vaquero? What dimensions is the dovetail? Thanks, randy.

Thank you for the link Sir. Does anyone know how to contact Salvo. I could not find a PM for him under his profile. I found an older post of his concerning this conversion. I would like to pick his brain. Thanks for all the help, Randy.
