Hello, I posted this over at THE OPEN RANGE forum, but thought I would get your opinions on this. I understand Colt went from the original style bullseye head ejector rod to the crescent shaped head around 1882, so both could be found on a "Black Powder" frame Colt. Which style do you guys prefer? Thanks!

The Bullseye can hang up in the holster too easily. The Crescent is a nice balance between easy ejection and a fast draw.
My $.02, take it as you will...I do like the Crescent that came on my NewVaq.

I prefer the bullseye and have never had an issue with it hanging up in the holster. The crescent works as well but the little Ruger button sucks big time.

I like the crescent too - but the way the Linebaughs checker the Ruger button-head makes it a whole different deal. I love details.

I had Clements checker the ejector head on one of my Bisleys but it seems like it dulled pretty quickly. Maybe should've had him do it a little coarser.

I prefer the crescent ejector rod head. Never did like the bullseye one.

My first gen SAA has the bullseye, but the top 1/3 or 1/2 is gone. I did put a bullseye rod on my "old" vaquero. I'm having Gary Reeder checker the rod button on my SBH.

When you all change from the factory ejector rod to a cresent ejector rod, do you also change the ejector rod housing? Switch to a cam-cut ejector rod housing?
I like the crescent ejectors, but I'm unsure if they require a new housing....
Thanks!!!

Nope, just unscrew the housing, pull the rod out of the spring, insert new rod, and reattach to barrel. use blue loc-tite on ejector rod housing screw.
