Its in a Cobra by ERA built by Chuck Gutke, Cobra Restorers down in Kennesaw Ga. He is to Cobras what Horvath is to handguns.

Lee it was a lot of fun but you already have so many toys when would you have time to play with it.
The big block is nice I also had a West Coast Cobra with a 460 in it but it paled in performance against the 427.
The red one next to my black car belonged to a friend it had a 454 @ 700 hp! At highway speeds 80 + mph where he could get traction he could really pull away from me.

[You can never have too many toys Len.....but you can have too little garage space -Lee http://www.singleactions.com[/quote] A customer of ours "lost" his new Ford GT,his original 289 Cobra and his 03 Marauder, because when his maintenance man brought them back from being serviced he parked them in the wrong hanger and they were hidden behind his P38 Lightning, his P51 Mustang and his TBF Avenger.................................... I kid you not.

Back when the World was Young at the Salt Flats: Groucho Marx in a Mercedes beats Gary Cooper in a Duesenberg. . Coop goes back to Duesenberg and tells them. . Duesenberg has made 2 SSJs, a short fast model. Clark Gable got one. Coop took the other one, one of only 3 engines that they ever put 2 carbs feeding the Supercharger. . This time Coop spanked Groucho. . Fast Forward to the 60s: There is a story in a car magazine about it and a kid in a little town way up in the top of New York state reads about it. . Fast Foward to 1986: The kid goes to a museum in Califorinia that by chance has that car. Not your normal car museum........ . The owner of the museum has had an all Stainless Steel exhaust built for this car for one reason......the sound! . When he took it to shows, he would warm it up for 20 min or so and then .........open it up. . He thought that people should be able to hear a Duesenberg at full song. . Damn Sweet Sound............. . He has passed away now, a great man. . Took American to LeMans for the first time, invented the Racing Stripe, just to mention a few, and always had time to talk to everyone.........

. No one but...... . The museum was on my way to work and as a member (less than 200) I got in free. . When on swing shift I would stop in for a few minutes, seldom many folks there. . One day a group was going thru and John Burgess was explaining the different cars. . One race car was an in line 6 all ball and roller bearing engine from between the Wars. . Someone said, in sort of a reverent way "That must have had a WONDERFUL sound!" . Ol John sees the glazed eyes and says, "let's see........." . Primes it turns it over, it stumbles and grumbles and misses till it warms up.......then it starts to warm and John brings the revs up....... . Loud, sweet and clear. . He idles it and then shuts it off....... . The guy that wondered what it sounded like had a grin on his face that looked like he needed a cigarette. . Yeah, exhaust in the building and your ears rang ...........not many museums like that now days. . Yup, Mr. Cunningham

All the cars that were street legal were licenced and driven. . He wasn't just the money either. One trip to LeMans he drove 19 hours straight.

Wow, that is really cool, I'd love to hear it run in person. Thanks for posting the link. Speaking of the exhaust note on a 427 Cobra (great looking car BTW), this guy sounds very similar. Sorry for the grainy pic. I would post a better one, but it's currently apart for some "winter facelift" work.
