After reading Lee's article on Virginian Dragoons and after shooting my first 10" Dragoon, I want to purchase a 6" Virginian Dragoon made in 1982 or later.
How can you determine the approximate date of manufacture?
Thanks. Dan

Was it a 10" Dragoon, or a 12" one. I'm just wondering how many barrel lengths they made.

It is a 10" silhouette model with a custom burris base & rings.
As I interpret Lee's article, the silhouette models may have been first offered in 1982 but I am not certain of this. I am hopeful that it is very accurate.

Why the 1982 cut off date?

As I recall from Lee's Article, accuracy, tolerances, fit & finish improved after 1980 when Rod Sward was hired. I really like the 10" Silhouette & would like to try a 6" model.
