A Chimney Rock El Dorado is one of my grail guns. Hard enough to find one, much less a stretched frame!

Looks unfired. Great find. Ever since I read Lee's article I've been looking for a North Carolina ElDorado.

That is quite a find Bob. Not a lot of stretch-frames came out of Chimney Rock and if I had to guess, 75% of those that did were 357 Max. BTW, here's the first long-frame El Dorado built in NC (sorry about the picture quality....it's a scan of an old photo): It's in 375 and serial numbered "001". Forrest and Russell had just got the adjustable molds back when a friend of mine called and inquired about the possiblity of a SuperMag. He eventually sold it to me in 2002, but it was built in 1989. Interesting story around this one. In fact, a lot of blood and sweat went into it. Russell needed to test fire it, but the grips weren't done yet (he was doing those himself). So he took it out back, clicked off 6 rounds, and split his hand wide open. Bleed all over the gun. -Lee www.singleactions.com
