I'm trying to find old magazines contaning articles written by Elmer Keith such as American Rifleman and Guns & Ammo, and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions for issues that are 'must haves' ? I know the April 1929 and November 1935 issues of American Rifleman are good ones, but I can't find any information on when he first wrote about the .44 Magnum, or the .41 Magnum.
If anyone has suggestions on other issues I would appreciate your help and direction.

Do you have his "updated" version of Sixguns? It covers a lot of ground, up until about the time Ruger's Super Blackhawk was released. This particular Super Blackhawk is one of two prototypes made with basically the finished format. The other was sent to Keith. This one ended up being sent to the "wood shop" so the Factory Mahogany Case could be produced. (Not my gun - it belongs to a friend.) Carl

His later columns were published in two volumes "Gun Notes" 1 and 2. Extensive discussion of loads for the .41, as well as ruminations on many subjects, correspondences between him and Jack O'Connor and others. Outstanding treasuries.

I recently scored an Elmer Keith trifecta on eBay: Guns & Ammo May, June and July 1969. Mr. Keith wrote three articles on handguns - The Single Action, The Double Action, and The Pistol Is Here to Stay! His conclusion: "When the chips are down, my own preference in handguns would be a Smith & Wesson .41 or .44 Magnum or a Ruger single action in the same calibers and my next choice is a Colt Target single action in .44 Special caliber with my heavy loads."

Seems like there would be a market for someone who is computer savvy enough to scan these articles and put them on a DVD.

Those articles are copy righted. FWIW Dale53 They are? I didn't know that an article that old can still have a copy right. Are Ross Seyfried's articles copy righted? That CD with Ross' articles was available for quite some time. Mark

And if they are still protected it seems that a market might exist for them if they were to be reprinted.

It's a real shame that so much in-print wisdom should be so inaccessible. At least we have Elmer Keith's wonderful books that aren't too awful hard to procure. I wonder if Seyfried maintained the rights to his work?
