Been to the show, met some friends, found a .22 Colt Police Positive Target and walked out a little lighter in the wallet but happy. Now I'll be looking for leather (vintage?) in which to take the little girl squirrel and rabbit hunting. The condition was wonderful, especially compared to many I've seen, and the price was right regardless of which version it is. I've been looking for one in great condition but not so great I'd feel guilty for taking it out. On top of that I was about to walk away to mull it over, then decided, no, I'd better get while the gettin' was good and the guy next to me sighed. The seller asked what he could help him with and the man pointed to what is now my gun... I could have saved me some money but glad I didn't. This gun was built in 1938, locks up tighter than a tick on a hound dog and is just enough not perfect to let me take it hunting.

That is nice ! I have a P.P. in .38spec.. An uncle carried it in the service. You in Va., near the Mil. Academy ? Had another uncle who taught there, I was to go there, at one time. A Deputy that works part time in a local gunshop here, carries two P.P.'s when off duty, a .38 and a 32-20. He tried to buy mine last week. steve b

Graduates get right if you call it an academy! ;D I'm about 33 miles north down the valley.

I love those PP targets. Especially in 22. Nice find.
My brother in law is a VMI Alum. 2004 or so.

Hobie, I'm not a "Colt guy" (only because I do not have enough brain cells to know what I'm doing and too few dollars to make up for my weak brain)....anyway...that gun is one I will acquire one fine day! Congratulations. A friend has one and it is a terrific shooter! You are gonna have lots of fun with that gun!!

There's something about old Colts. Never used to like the looks of them growing up, but really appreciate their classic lines now.

Sixshooter,
I was sort of the same way. They looked uncomfortable, felt uncomfortable to my then smallish hands and weren't appealing. Now... Katy bar the door!
