Haven't shot it yet, but I finally snapped a couple of photos of the Intercontinental Arms Super Dakota I recently picked-up (41 Magnum): I've been searching high and low for one for the past 12 years. Not many exist, so I was lucky to find it. From the Gunbroker pictures I thought I'd have to re-grip and refinish it. Turns out to be in great shape with only minor thinning on the blueing. The grips are like new. I'll post a range report soon. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Thanks Boge. The only other person I know with a 41 Super Dakota is Mr. Taffin. Definitely not a common model. BTW, these were built by Uberti and imported by Intercontinental Arms in the late 60's. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Very cool - like Old Model Super Blackhawk "brassie" meets New Frontier meets Virginian Dragoon. And a VERY cool front sight!

Interesting. How does that front sight work?

The front sight is pinned and slides up and down in the base to adjust for elevation. The rear sight body is cast into the frame and includes a notch blade for windage. Pretty slick system. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Sounds cool. Is the frame a standard Dakota size or is it bigger for magnum pressure?

I'll have to measure, but I think this is the same frame used for their Buckhorn model (which is larger for magnum pressure). The only difference is the topstrap contour and inclusion of a rear sight hump. Here's a picture of my 44 Mag / 44-40 Uberti Buckhorn: -Lee www.singleactions.com

You know, looking at the photos of both in the same thread leads me to believe the Buckhorn is larger than the Super Dakota frame. I'll measure both when I get home tonight. -Lee www.singleactions.com
