Had to come back and admire those grips a second time. Brionic who made the front sight for your Smith, that is a great looking and I assume efficient sight.

Thanks. I like to look at the pictures, too... until I remember that I could be shooting it instead of staring at the computer! The sight is made by David Clements, who did the conversion .357 to .44 conversion. Top notch work... I can't find anything to change. When I bought the revolver from Jack, he wasn't sure whether the nickel was applied at the factory, since there aren't too many of them in that configuration. It turns out that this revolver was part of a later (the last?) run of nickel M27s purchased by the FHP, which isn't listed in "The Book". They were sold at surplus about fifteen years ago, most in near new condition. Someone bought it and sent it to David for the conversion, the later sold it to Jack. What I really like about it, aside from the obvious, is the narrow trigger. Also it has a plain black rear target blade... clearly this was spec'd as a duty weapon, rather than as a target gun. The checkered top strap isn't bad either So this gun has been from MA to FL, to VA, then TX, to me in IA, then to Mr. Fishpaw, back in VA. And soon down to AR
