I had a holster for my first Single-Six that I really liked. Simple, low priced. The big deal for me was that it had two brass snapped straps, the usual one for retention. The other when un-done allowed you to take off, put on, with out unthreading your belt. Plain brown leather. Anyone have a handle on these ? steve b

Thanks Otony ! When I didn't get responses for a while did some googling and at Midway found the Hunter 1100 . Think its the same/same. No specific model for the FT frame there. Thanks for link to actual company. Will check them out before shutting down 'puter here. steve b

What I like about that type holster, is more than the conveniance off not having to un-do and un-thread your belt. The belt "slot" is quite generous and fits over fanny pack and some back pack waist belts. Ones that have buckles that could never fits thru regular slotted holsters. Good for packing b'ar guns while fuishing and backpacking. I steelhead fish with a fanny pack around my waders, the fanny pack being the only belt. When outta the pack, or waders, it goes right onto your other belt. Pretty ? Fancy ? 100 bucks ? NO ! Pretty is, as pretty does. steve b

I used Hunter holsters through all my early years, as the line was basically:
A. Carried everywhere.
B. Inexpensive, pretty important for a 14 year old kid.
C. Could be found in left-handed without jumping through too many hoops (remember this was in the late 1960s)
D. Most importantly, I could carry it on a web belt along with my genyoowine G.I. canteen and and an upswept point Solingen knife with leather washer haft! Man was I in my glory.
BTW, I have one of the Blocker patterns to wear on my current web belt. Very nice even if did did cost me the 100 bucks!

I bought this holster when I picked up my brand new Single Six in 1981. It actually is stamped with an S&W Logo on the back with the numbers 21 06. Fits like a glove and has packed the Ruger well. I Just gave this rig to my oldest daughter this May when she graduated with her Masters degree.
