Single actions and action shooting cowboy style.
What great and complimentary books, a ton of info, and pictures.

New AMERICAN HANDGUNNER in yesterday's mail. JT has an article on Fitzgerald of Colt. He was a fascinating man, pre-WW II exhibition shooter, balistics expert, etc. Interestingly, I recently bought a S.D. Myres wrist clip for Rem Double Derringer that belonged to Fitz. Also his Personal custom gunbelt made by Cap Hardy, a fellow exhibition shooter and holster maker. A left hand Hardy holster came with the belt. These were in a fairly recent firearms auction with many Fitz items, including his personal handguns. I bought these off of Ebay. The gunbelt has a flap on the back side with button holes along its length. Fitz buttoned it to his pants. Jayhawker Bob

jayhawker, A few weeks ago, I finished reading SHOOTING by J. Henry FitzGerald (that's not a typo, it's the way he spelled and wrote his name) . Published in 1930, it's still a very worthwhile read that I can recommend to you. Paladin republished it. I haven't seen John's article yet. Congratulations on your acquisitions.

I'm still pestering Paladin every chance I get to make Fitz's Shooting available on the Amazon Kindle. I have an original 1930 edition, the Wolfe hardcover reprint and the Paladin paperback.

I have a 1st edition of Fitz' book. Also a reprint. Have been re-reading it since getting the gunbelt. Well worth the time. I find it fascinating that he bought handguns in pairs and devoted one to right hand exclusively, other to left hand. My pair of cons. Colt 2nd Gen SAs, shipped direct to Arvo Ojala in late '50s have the hammers bent opposite directions, one to right, one to left. JB

They're all worth having and I've been through all mine countless times. Although Big Bore Sixguns is still my favorite.
