A few moments ago, a nice young lady from Beartooth Bullets called my house to tell me that they were going to ship my order by USPS instead of UPS as I specified. She told me they were going to do so to save me money. I was impressed enough, I thought I'd share that with you all.

I've been very impressed with those folks. When I ordered my first bullets from them, they called to be sure I got them sized correctly. Which reminds me, I need to place an order.....

Yeah, since the postal service came out with the "flat rate boxes", shipping of heavy stuff like bullets has changed. My local rural carrier says if this keeps up, he'll be on disability, his back won't hold up ! steve b

Those flat rate boxes have made life simpler for a lot of companies. The only down side is if they don't pack them well. For example, I ordered some .38's, some .45's and some 45-70's from an outfit a couple of weeks ago. They didn't put any filler in the box, and when the box made it to my house, their was a hole in the corner and the 45-70's were missing, but the invoice showed I'd been billed for them. While 1 call to the company resulted in replacement 45-70's being shipped to me, there really wasn't any reason for this to have happened if they had just crumpled up some newspaper and shoved it in the box.

Mergus They probably figured that with all the lead in there, the newspaper would have put them over the limit. ;D
