After years of searching, I finally obtained an Intercontinental Arms Super Dakota in 41 Magnum (7.5" barrel). Mechanically, the gun is sound but there's some finish wear and the grips are 80 - 90%. I plan on having it hard-chromed, leaving the brass backstrap as is. The only thing that's left are the grips. Who do you guys recommend for custom, one piece grips? The Super Dakotas had one-piece stocks, but they're much longer than a SAA (ie, they'd be a pure custom job). I'm also pretty open to the material (wood, stag, etc). -Lee www.singleactions.com

You make a good point John. I may go CCH with blue. Just need to get someone to make-up a custom grip. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Mr. Fishpaw or Mr. Persinger of course. Have them find an extraordinary piece of walnut and call it good

Talked to Scott Kolar and it looks like I'll have him make-up a set of walnut grips. The gun won't arrive until early next week, so I still have some time to decide on finish. I agree with John that blued is more classic, but brushed hard-chrome is so durable (and I plan on shooting it a lot). Opinions? -Lee www.singleactions.com

Are these Hammerli's or Jager's? I'm seeing different things out there.

HARD CHROME IS FOR PACKIN' A LOT IN ALL KINDS OF WEATHER. If that's what you want, electroless nickel would be much better.
