I had sent some North Fork Cup Point Solids for the 45-70 to Roy (reflex264) for a head to head test against other premium bullets to be used in the 45-70 and 450 Marlin. These are 350 gr solid copper bullets that are CA approved. The results were outstanding and now CA hunters have a bullet that will open up at 1534 fps but hold together well enough for water buffalo or Cape buffalo. I know we don't have anything that size in CA but it is nice to know that one can have a "CA Condor friendly" lead free bullet that will take anything in NA, not to mention many types of game in Africa. The results were posted in Leverguns, MarlinOwners and Levergunlovers forums. I thought some of you would be interested. Here's the link. www.levergunscommunity.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28479

Thanks for the link. I may have to try them in my 458 Devastator and 450 Bonecrusher. -Lee www.singleactions.com

i have thought that the 300 partition at 2100 or so out of the guide gun was the do all end all. it penetrates surprisingly well for the weight to diameter. the 350 made as big a hole in the media as the partition but went four inches deeper than the partition did. the oddest thing we saw was that from entry to about five inches the partition, barnes and north fork all had essentially the same wound diameter. very impressive. i like my bullets leaded and am not planning on going green any time soon, but i understand the predicament those poor unfortunate souls are in who are still trapped in california and this is a great bullet that meets california requirements
