Just read an old Gunblast article about the Texican. The article was highly complimentary.
Yet, to read the majority of posts here, it doesn't seem to exist. What's the scoop on this single action?

Haven't checked in a while but the rather bland selection of chamberings and barrel lengths (5 1/2" .45's only) leads me to the USFA stock at Davidson's every single time.

I gather you all think it us comparable to USFA guns in quality.
Must not stack up to the FA revolvers?

I've seen multiple (positive) magazine reviews but none for sale at gun shops, shows or the internet. If I remember correctly they were something like $1399?? Or maybe $1299? Seems like a tough sell against USFA at under $1000 and new Colts at $1200 to $1500.I do have a STI 1911 and have been very happy with it.

I just talked with a STI dealer on July 14th regarding ordering a Texican and he told me: "There is currently a two year wait for orders that were previously placed and at this time STI is not taking any backorders for the Texican.
It almost sounds like Del Fatti leather holsters - They are currently building orders from November 2007 and have not taken any new orders since March 2008!
It really pays to make outstanding products even in a difficult economy.

Man, I would LOVE it if they or USFA would make a NF. I have a thing for NFs.

We are obviously in the minority on the NF there Boge.... If everyone liked them like us there would have already been a USFA NF...

True - and the Colts would be MUCH more expensive! I like 'em way better than SAAs.

I posted a question on the USFA website once about them making a New Frontier repo but never got any response from anyone at USFA. Imagine a 4 3/4" 44 Spl. NF without a front sight that has been rounded off by over polishing. In fact I might choose a 5 1/2" 45 Colt first.

While we're dreaming - I'd go for a 4-3/4" 44 Special (marked Special & Russian) with a 44 WCF cylinder. I have a 5-1/2" Colt 44 Special with one-piece ivory stocks, a 7-1/2" 44 Special, a 7-1/2" 45 Colt, and a 4-3/4" 45 Colt with stags.

Boge and Axe, I think it's time for a NF photo thread in the gallery.
