John L. told me today that he won't be able to get to the brass bisley grip frames until sometime in the fall. They are in his shop, as cast right now. They need the mating surfaces machined. Has anybody else signed up for one?

Any chance the reserve is available for a replacement to be delivered later? ;D

Sure, if you have a project waiting for it we could do that. It is down at Alan Hartons right now. We were going touse it on the 414 Supermag but will the top strap welding we need to do we'll CCH the frame and I think the brass would clash so I'm sending down a steel.
If you need it, call Alan and let him know I said to send it to you and he can confirm with me if he wants to.
Let me know,
Robb

The project is going to be waiting on a rebore at first, but I don't want to get it in process without being sure of where the pieces are coming from.

I understand wanting to get the parts all lined up first. If John will have parts ready this fall, you are more than welcome to take mine and replace it later. The ones I have were made from Johns mold from what I understand from Milt Morrison, who I got them from last year.

I think brass and CCH looks slick, but that's just my opinion, however, is anyont still making a brass gripframe for these guns since qualite went under?

I don't know of anyone doing aftermarket brass frames right now since Morrison isn't.

Linebaugh has the only Bisleys that I am aware of.
Power Custom still has the XR3 two-piece in brass.

Ohhhhh, Power custom is still making a brass XR3? Would that be what Midway refers to as a "Power Custom Colt Style Gripframe"?

Thats the one, but I would cut out the middleman and get it from power custom. When I told RP I wanted one piece grips, he marked his recommended cut lines on the grip frame he sent. That's just good customer service. I'll go back.

I'll keep them in mind when I get to looking for another bras gripframe, but right now I have only one project in mind that requires one, and it's the hoarded Qualite

Dredging this up from the depths of NBY days..
I never managed to get my project started while I had Kings6's grip frame, so it went home to him. I do appreciate the loan. It and a set of ivory polymers got held up next to every blued sixgun in the house. Once I had a quote from Bowen on what I wanted to do, I decided I had to finish my remodel first.
Anyway, I called J. Linebaugh yesterday and he said they were ready. I got mine on the way because he had promised it to me back in the summer. He is not letting anymore go - they will only be installed on guns he is doing.

I am glad he got one headed to you John. I might even talk to him about using one of his on the OM 500L project and ratholing the one I sent him.
