Been looking for a Winchester 1895 takedown in 405 Winchester ever since I sold the one I had (stupid move!). Finally found on and it was still NIB. My hope is to shoot a nice bull moose with it within a couple of years.
Sportsman Warehouse notified me they got the Marlin SBL in 45-70 back in stock so placed an order and it should be in any day. This is the stainless model with 19 inch barrel and laminated stock. If any lever action screams "Alaska" this one is it. I'm thinking of buying 300 grain Barnes TSX bullets and trying them first.
My Alaska big bore arsenal is now complete..............at least until the budget improves or the wife goes away on vacation:)
Already well stocked in brass for both. Made myself a promise several years ago I will no longer buy any caliber where brass is very difficult to find. I either have to already own plenty or it will be in stock online.
