Dang! 77/22 22 Hornet has caught my eye. Nice looking little rifle. My best hope is staying strong just long enough for somebody to buy it out from under me...

I am finding out that that is good advice! Luckily someone bought a Rem 700 Classic 7mm-08 and I sold the .500 BFR yesterday! Saved for now. Got any pics of the Ruger?

Those are such neat little rifles. So light and handy and the lines are all proportional, not like a full-sized rifle chopped down.
I had one with a walnut stock in 22 Mag. It wouldn't shoot like the 22 LRs I was using and I traded it off rather than fix it. Many years later, I got the 77/357 with the composite stock. After a trigger job and a shim between the bolt halves, that one shot REALLY well. The forearm was bent and kept creeping to one side. I'd open the side of the barrel channel up and a few days later it would have crept more. Before Ruger replied back on my CS inquiry, a guy just HAD to have it and I let that one go too. He wanted something that would group 4" at 50 yards. It would put five under an inch at that distance until the stock crept, but then it really opened up to two inches, so he was fine with it. "shootin' deer, not squirrels!"
Then, they discontinued them, but I think they ended up changing their minds, because they never went away.

I had one of the laminate stainless steel 22 hornets. A 35 grain V-Max plus a full load of h110 or lil gun And that thing would shoot groups you could easily cover with a dime. It was insane how good that gun shot. One of the few I've ever sold and regret letting it go. When I pulled the action from the stock it had a huge bump on the barrel channel. I guess the philosophy was to create upward pressure. It would start walking the groups up beforehand. Once I removed the bump it stopped stringing. Great little guns.

Held out as long as I could... It is mine. Didn't get the rings with it so I'll have to buy some. Boss talked about how reaming it to K hornet would affect the collector value. "Collector Value" Hah! Rings in my basket at Midway. Chamber reamer in the shop waiting. With all these Hornets around here I'd better look at some brass too.

Ordered a set of Ruger rings from Brownell's... Heard rumors of factory 22 Hornet ammo in house...
