My LCP has been a very reliable and accurate gun for me. When you bear down will easily keep them all in the bottom of a coke can. When you really get after it will keep them all in the head of a silhouette target.

Several guys in my old agency carried LCPs and they all seemed to run quite well and were accurate enough out to 25 yards to qualify. The only “problem” was no one had more than one magazine so everyone else on the line stood around waiting to finish up while that one guy per session was stuffing itty bitty bullets in an itty bitty magazine.

Picked up the LCP today. It tiny in my 2x glove size hands. Very heavy, but still smooth trigger. Will do the Mozambique on double targets at 7yds, so I'm happy with it.
Especially since it was free! I traded in hotel points for the gift card!

I think the little Kel-Tek p32 would be a pretty good boot gun. Centerfire, inexpensive, fairly robust, and in a caliber that is a step up from any rimfire. Lots of good choices out there.

The Kel-Tek pocket pistols,, as I recall, have an external extractor, and have suffered some issues in the hands of people who shoot them a lot. The Ruger LCP doesn't have the external extractor,, and has a well proven track record among people who shoot a lot. I prefer a gun I can trust to work under a lot of use.

Carried in the mid 80s through mid 90s a blued Colt Mustang then about 10 years later SS Mustang lite in an ankle rig off and on for about 10 years. Novak sights help also. Paste wax is your friend.
The 380 ACP is not a general stopping round and has to be employed surgically to be final. I prefer CNS/spine shots but your ammo has to be up to the task.

No 380's here. Am always interested in folks ammo choices and why. My 2 slim single stack Glock 9's have been using up the last of my stock of Ranger-T 147gr hp's. Will need to find something similar soon.

This 380 will get 85gr +p hardball for carry. Penetration is second only to accuracy in mouse fart guns.
In the 38's it's the MP 360-640 light lg hp pin (213gr) cast 7bhn on a +p charge of Universal.

I have carried a LCP in my left front pocket, in a pocket holster, with a crimson trace laser on it, for several years. I am Left handed. I carry a spare mag in my watch pocket on the right. It's a great set up for me. At 70 yr.s old, it would be a toss-up on time to dig it out of my pocket or draw it from an ankle holster.

I creak, pop, and crackle when I bend over now days. My main gun is always a snub revolver carried appendix iwb.

Bought an LCP when they first came out. Always been reliable and great for concealing; but I can't hit with it worth a darn.
In that similar size, my wife really likes her Kimber micro.
If buying over today, I'd go with the new SW bodyguard 2.

I am a fan of the little Seecamp LWS-32. Never been one to boot carry, but, I do have an Alessi Ankle Holster to fit the Seecamp. I actually tend to tote a Seecamp in a Kramer Pocket Holster.
My son has a Ruger Elsie Pea, and likes it. I do not know which version he has.

"Elsie Pea",,,, I like that! Made me chuckle.
Rangersedge,, The LCP does approach accurate shooting differently than other guns. The gun was designed w/o a manual or even a trigger safety to be a "Pull, point & shoot" simple design. Minimize the controls, so that in a real life situation, it tries to be as simple as a DA revolver. As such,, the LONG & HEAVY trigger pull is made to where a safety isn't necessary. You HAVE to pull the trigger to get it to go off. And many people,, especially people used to a sweetened 1911 style trigger have issues with it. But if you go back to the basics,, and focus on your trigger control all the way through it's long heavy pull, they can be more accurate than you thought. But that requires work for many.

Thanks Contender! Yes. It was definitely different than most guns I'm used to. I know some have overcame it and can shoot the LCPs well. I never found it a pleasant gun to shoot and just haven't invested the time it'd take me to get good with it.

I approached it like I had to my sp101 double action pull before I cleaned up the revolvers action. Long and very heavy, but I don't have small nor weak hands. Just be smooth and it works. Yes, it definitely could be lighter, but smooth really helps.
