I well remember when Jack built that gun. My 45-70 is all (and sometimes more) I want.

Whoever bought it got quite a deal. Impractical as they are, they're a real conversation piece. I converted one to .50 Alaskan and settled on 585 gr cast bullets around 1,100 fps. Recoil isn't terrible and it packs at lot of punch. Those same bullets at 1,500 fps punish on both ends. I wonder if a forum member got this. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

I have a Ruger No 1 and Winchester 71 in 50-110, and their a handful. A solid in a 500 Linebaugh (50-110 short) goes thru anything, the Maxis are even crazier heavier. I like it, and it’s probably a good thing I didn’t see it for sale, but I hope someone I know brings it to the range and lets me play. Attachments:
