Very heavy and very durable. Absolutely nothing wrong with them if you arent just trying to impress someone else. I would suggest skim bedding anyway but id do that on most any aluminum block. The F-class champion fielded one of these choate stocks several years back.

Weight is good for a rifle I'm just going to prop on the bench. My old school gunsmiths always told me that the bedding blocks were cool but that to be the best the action still needed to be glass bedded.

Bedding blocks can still introduce stress into the action. Skim bedding a block is good, along with pillars and bedding material.
