Took a nice sow hog this morning with my BFR in .454 Casull. Shot was perfectly broadside at roughly 50 yards. Bullet was found on the opposite side, under the hide. Load was a 250 grain Barnes XTB over H110. Muzzle velocity with this combination averages 1671 fps from the 7” barrel. The hog ran about 25 yards after the shot. Live weight was 90 lbs.

Even if it is a parachute, I am surprised that it both stayed in and how far it ran. Pigs are danged tough pests.

Very nice. And congrats. How did your elk hunt go? Thank you! Great time in Colorado but no elk to show. We were tripping over mule deer and saw a few cow elk but no bulls.
